Simple XML Import

Simple XML Import allows you to import your XML format data source into ConceptChoir. To import a Simple XML source, first choose Simple XML to be the selected template in the Template dropdown menu of Import Manager. After specify the source location from the Import Scope section of the Import Manger, to use all the default setting for the import, you can click Import button to import the simple XML source, or you can click the Option button to update the import setting for Simple XML Import.

To change the simple XML import setting, click Option button to open the Import Option Window for Simple XML Import as shown in Figure 1.

Simple XML Import Option is further categorized into two section: Elements, and Duplicate Handling. You can switch between these sections by clicking the corresponding tab located on top of the window. Figure 1 shows the Elements section.

Elements (Figure 1)

Elements section controls your source data setup information settings for the import. You can exclude any elements by deselect the checkbox in front of the element. You can also change the default tag value for elements to match your source data. Elements with Language Attribute will list them at the end of the row, given you the option to deselect the attribute or update its tag, Here is a list of supported element details:

ID - Term ID
PTERM - Preferred Term
NPTERM - Non-preferred Term
PBT - Preferred Broader Term
NPBT - Non-preferred Broader Term
NT - Narrower Term
RT - Related Term
NOTE - Term Note
TYPE - Term Type

Duplicate Handling section controls actions that handle duplications. As the Figure 2 suggests, you can set various actions to handler the duplications exist in your data source. Click the radio button in front of your desired action to select.

When you satisfy with your import setting, click the Save button to save the changes and exit the option window. The import preview in Import Manager will also be updated to reflect the changes you have made. Click Cancel button to cancel all pending changes and exit the report option window.
