Configure Facet/Hierarchy

Configure Facet

Facet configuration is only enabled when facets are defined in the vocabulary definition. When Facet are defined, the configuration buttons are lit and you can configure Facet definition. To configure a facet, you need to first select the vocabulary it belongs in the Vocabulary section. Once the vocabulary is highlighted, its facet list will be displayed in the Facet section.

To create a new Facet, click the button in the Facet configuration section as shown in Figure 1 to open the New Facet Window as shown in Figure 2.

After filling the Code, Name, and Note definition, click OK button to create the new Facet and close New Facet Window. Click the Cancel button to cancel any pending changes and close the window.

To edit an existing Facet, highlight the facet first, and then click the button in the Facet configuration section as shown in Figure 3 to open the Edit Facet Window as shown in Figure 4.

After making changes on fields of Code, Name, and Note definition, click OK button to save the changes and close Edit Facet Window. Click the Cancel button to cancel any pending changes and close the window.

To delete an existing Facet, highlight the facet first, and then click the button in the Facet configuration section. Once a facet is deleted, all data defined in the facet will be lost and can not be restored. The deletion process would probably take a long time to finish based on the size of the facet. A progress bar will appear for the process.

Configure Hierarchy

To configure a hierarchy, you need to first select the vocabulary it belongs in the Vocabulary section. If facets are also defined for the vocabulary, you need to then select the facet the hierarchy belongs to in the Facet section. Once the vocabulary is highlighted, and the facet is highlighted if defined, the hierarchy list will be displayed in the Hierarchy section.
To create a new Hierarchy, click the button in the Hierarchy configuration section as shown in Figure 5 to open the New Hierarchy Window as shown in Figure 6.

After filling the Code, Name, Structure, NT Order, and Note definition, click OK button to create the new Hierarchy and close New Hierarchy Window. Click the Cancel button to cancel any pending changes and close the window.

To set user access permissions for an existing Hierarchy, highlight the Hierarchy first, and then click the button in the Hierarchy configuration section as shown in Figure 8 to open the Edit Access Permission Window as shown in Figure 9.

To adjust an already assigned access permission, simply using the dropdown menu to choose desired value. Click the Plus Sign will add a new Access Permission, and the Minus Sign will delete the current Access Permission. Click the OK button to keep changes and exit the Edit Access Permission Window. Click the Cancel button to cancel any pending changes and close the window.
