ConceptChoir's architecture allows many users accessing, editing vocabularies simultaneously. Problems arise when two editor editing the same concept concurrently. The latter submitted update will overwrite the previous submission. ConceptChoir provide Concept Edit Lock system to avoid such editing collision. Once an editor starts editing a concept, the concept is automatically put in "Check Out" mode, which means you own the solo right to modify the chosen concept. Concepts are in "Check Out" mode can only be updated by the user who check them out. It will be listed as "Read Only" for all other users. When you finished editing the concept, you are given the options to keep the concept checked out, or released the concept from Check Out mode. Please read the How to edit concepts section for more details. When you submit your finished editing result, ConceptChoir will check the concept in so that others can further modify it, unless you instruct the system not to check the concept in during your submission. To manually check out a concept, you need first select the desired concept, then click the Check Out button from the ConceptChoir Vocabulary Explorer Tool Bar. To manually check in a previously checked out concept, select the checked out concept first and then click the Check In button from the ConceptChoir Vocabulary Explorer Tool Bar.
